More than 8,000 babies are born at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns each year, more than any other hospital in California. Located in San Diego, Sharp Mary Birch is nationally recognized for its care of expectant mothers and for delivering babies, as well as its 61-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — the largest of its kind in Southern California. But there is much more to the hospital than obstetrics.

As San Diego County's only freestanding women's hospital, Sharp Mary Birch provides a full range of medical and surgical services for women of all ages, including robotic gynecologic surgery and gynecologic oncology.

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, prepares and distributes new and refill medications including: unit dose cassettes, IV solutions, controlled substances, outpatient prescriptions and special preparations requiring compounding. Supports automation technologies (Pyxis MedStation, Pyxis Profile, Automix, Euclid Re-packaging, PDX, etc.).

Hours:

Per diem shift, 8-hour variable shift, no nights; weekends

Qualifications:

• Current California State Board of Pharmacy licensure required without restriction or probation.
• Min of 1 year current inpatient pharmacy tech exp required.
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, trade, generic drug names, and metric system and current IV skills required.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Basic computer skills required.
