CLINICAL PHARMACY CONSULTANT (JOB #9939)
Portland, OR
Oversee the complex and comprehensive general or cost accounting activities or functions in the following role:
* Provide a professional level of clinical pharmaceutical knowledge
* Interact with the Medical Affairs and Pharmacy Services staff
* Develop/Recommend policies and procedures to ensure positive clinical outcomes in a cost-effective manner for prescription drug usage within The Regence Group
* Advise and provide direction for the Medical Affairs and Pharmacy Services staffs for case management, home health care, inpatient and outpatient hospital as each relates to prescription drug charges
* Negotiate with other medical professionals (case managers, physicians, pharmacists and hospital administrators) in cases involving complex medical information
Combine your strong clinical background and experience in a managed health care system with the following skills:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy with Oregon state license; PharmD is preferred, but Master's in health care administration, economics, finance or related degree will also be considered
* At least 4 years of experience in an acute care setting is required
* Strong clinical pharmacy background
* Minimum of 2 years of management or professional business experience in a managed health care system, medical group, hospital or related business in the health care delivery industry
* Proven negotiating skills
* Demonstrated success in managing professional business relationships in a managed health care, medical group, hospital, or related organization
* Strong knowledge of prepaid health care economics and financing
* Familiarity with health care industry dynamics as well as provider contracting strategies, techniques and processes
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong business analytical skills
* Proven project coordination abilities
* PC proficiency, including familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software
