At Carilion Clinic the Pharmacists are the medication experts and members of the patient care team. By having pharmacists partner with other disciplines, we are improving the care we provide to patients who are taking medications.
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 825-bed teaching, tertiary care facility with Level 1 Trauma. The pharmacy department at (CRMH) utilizes a mix of centralized and decentralized clinical staff and clinical specialists to provide pharmaceutical care to patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics and from outpatients to patients in intensive care units with a pharmacist to technician ratio of 1 to 2.
Carilion utilizes a number of technologies to include:

· computerized order entry and verification
· automated dispensing cabinets
· point-of-care bar-coded administration systems
· centralized carousels.
Assist in the development of new clinical pharmacy initiatives with a focus on patient outcomes and cost effective medication therapy. Provide accurate, objective, and unbiased drug information in a timely manner following the principles of evidence-based medicine and patient focused pharmaceutical care to Carilion Clinic healthcare professionals. Work closely with the Medication Use Director to support the activities of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee in evidence-based formulary management processes. Participate in quality initiatives related to the medication use process. Serve as a mentor to pharmacy staff on issues related to medication information. Provide education to students, residents, and other healthcare providers. Opportunities for research available.
Work schedule is Days with no weekend hours. Must be a graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE. Must posses a PharmD and have completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency, or equivalent experience.
