General Description of the Job Class
Manage pharmaceutical services (including extensive oversight of drug distribution systems) to include advising physicians on matters pertaining to drug usage and control within assigned pharmacy and community locations; participate in the development and delivery Patient Care Services, Medical Staff (Apothecary Shop Allopathic and Veterinary Medical Directors) and students.
As a growing company, The Apothecary Shops is entering new, strategic markets at a rate of two to four stores per year. New facilities planned in the Southwest include California, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. Our broad geographic coverage allows us to provide specialty services to patients and practitioners throughout the nation, while still allowing these groups to maintain personal relationships with pharmacists who are knowledgeable in their disease states.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes including advising physicians on issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs and side effects, as well as assisting in the prescription of appropriate doses.
Coordinate and oversee the activities of assigned pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with physicians' prescriptions; ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and controlled drugs and the maintenance of required records.
Mentor pharmacists in training including but not limited to Pharmacy Practice Residents, UNM, Univ. of Arizona, and Midwestern University students; activities should include both practical and didactic experiences.
Maintain liaison relationships with medical and nursing staff; provide timely information pertaining to pharmaceutical supplies, drug usage and compatibility, state and federal regulations regarding drug controls, and Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board standards.
