Job Description

Specialized Clinical Pharmacist position available within the Drug Information Department at the University of Utah Hospital.

The University of Utah Hospital is a progressive research/teaching facility where Pharmacists have the opportunity to further their education as well as interact  closely with the medical team.

This position requires current licensure to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of Utah as well as experience in a specialized rotation or fellowship in Infectious disease.

In this position, you will provide a leadership role to the organization's antibiotic stewardship program as well as other clinical functions.

Responsibilities:

This position is an infectious disease/pharmacoepidemiology specialist position.

The applicant must be able to do the following:

Provide leadership for the organization's antibiotic stewardship program.

Analyze the organization's antibiotic use patterns, identify potential opportunities to improve care, and develop programs to improve antibiotic use.

Perform clinical functions both in teams and independently.

Insure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients in their care and monitor care appropriately.

Supervise daily workflow to accomplish daily tasks allotted to the pharmacist and those who report to him or her (e.g., technicians or interns).

Maintain a working knowledge of and implement current University Health Care policies and guidelines in addition to state and federal laws related to pharmacy practice.

Communicate clearly, assertively, professionally, and politely to all pharmacy customers including patients, their families, and other staff members.

Be willing to work with trainees in the department (IE, students, interns, residents or new staff). Maintain dedication to superior customer service when interacting with patients, visitors, family members, staff, co-workers, and vendors.
