Manager, Pharmacy Operations- Phoeniz, AZ Summary: Manager, Pharmacy Operations will assist the Director in managing the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy to ensure safe, efficient and effective pharmaceutical care. Responsible for overview of automation, inventory and formulary control. 1. Assists the Director in providing excellence in pharmaceutical care from the Pharmacy Department, as measured by review and observation -Ensure cost-effective, efficient and safe pharmaceutical care -Supervise pharmacy staff through proper training, motivation, evaluation and retention techniques -Ensure department equipment and materials are in condition to promote efficiency in use and safety of patients and staff -Ensures optimal use of the Automation system through training, troubleshooting and regular evaluation of reports -Discrepancy resolution, accurate narcotic and medication stocking in the Automation equipment -Review and update of stock in the automation equipment -Evaluate staff usage of Automation equipment throughout hospital and evaluation to ensure safe narcotic usage and control 2. Manages activities in the central pharmacy involving inventory control, storing and the dispensing of medications. S/he assists in monitoring and maintaining the pharmacy drug formulary; includes the identification and utilization of existing drug contracts and current drug expense information. -Ensures adequate drug supplies to meet the needs of the patients as demonstrated by audit. -Ensures drug invoices are processed in an accurately and promptly as demonstrated by audit. -Ensures drugs are stored in accordance with manufacturer conditions as demonstrated by observation and documentation. -Ensures that drugs are dispensed in an accurately and promptly as demonstrated by customer feedback. -Existing contracts are adhered to as evidenced by audit. -Formulary will reflect current pricing and activity as evidenced by audit. 3. Acts as a liaison with other Hospital Departments concerning computer and inventory issues. 4. Monitors pharmacy schedules and payroll records. 5. Performs as a staff pharmacist when needed. Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy -3 - 5 Years hospital Pharmacist or 2 years with Pharmacy D certification -Current Licensure/Registration in good standing with state of Arizona Preferred Qualifications: - 3 - 5 Years Pharmacy information systems management experience For immediatie consideration forward your resume or call me at the number listed below.
