HOSPITAL STAFF PHARMACIST FOR THE INPATIENT PHARMACY        

                                              

POSITION:
This position allows you to put your pharmacokinetic skills to work in an acute setting by being an integral part of a team that brings a higher level of clinical pharmacy practice to the Hospital. The combination of staffing and clinical duties permits you to integrate and learn all aspects of pharmacy practice and may offer future growth potential to move into a clinical pharmacist role.  

The pharmacy staff includes a Director, 4 full time Pharmacists, 7 full time Technicians and 5 part time Technicians, with plans to add a future clinical pharmacist. The pharmacy is open 7days per week from 7a-11p and fills approximately 30,000-40,000 orders per month.  There is currently a pharmacokinetics program in place, however, the Director desires to implement IV to PO, renal dosing and improve the anticoagulant program/clinic, along with bringing other clinical programs onboard. Currently, the pharmacy utilizes Omni cell, EMAR, bar code scanning, Meditech and CPOE (almost complete). There is a large 340b program for outpatient pharmacy services. 

HOURS:
The hours/shifts of this full time position are three weeks of days; 7a-3:30p and one week of evenings; 2:30p-11p per month, with a weekend rotation as follows: 1 weekend per month for two months in a row, and 2 weekends the third month; then repeats.

COMPANY INFORMATION:
Hospital is licensed for 143 private acute care beds with an average daily census of 65-75 patients and serves a large patient geriatric population. The hospital has recently opened a new surgical unit and has recently completed an additional 8 bed expansion to the Emergency Department and continues to grow.

LOCATION:
Rutherfordton, North Carolina.  This city is located just over the border, northeast of Greenville, South Carolina, roughly 70 miles away.  Located in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, Rutherfordton enjoys the benefit of being in a “thermal belt”, providing a moderate climate in all seasons.
