HOSPITAL STAFF PHARMACIST
POSITION SUMMARY:
Staff pharmacists fill orders for parenteral and enteral medications, monitor patient drug therapy, and provide drug information. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. In the absence of the director of pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the director of pharmacy.
POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy or equivalent
BS Pharmacy degree or Pharm.D. or equivalent
Completed all continuing education requirements
Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Texas.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Two years Hospital experience preferred, but not required. 20 hours of IV admixture preparation training. Requires good communication and organizational skills. Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have ability to speak effectively, and posses strong reasoning ability and good independent judgment. Requires working with frequent interruptions.
