We are currently seeking candidates for a Pharmacy Manager/Medication Safety Manager.
The Pharmacy Manager/Medication Safety Manager manages and coordinates the pharmacy department’s medication safety and quality agenda to ensure safe, effective, and consistently high quality care throughout the department and hospitals. They will have primary oversight for the Pharmacy Department’s quality improvement and medication safety program. This position directs others within the department towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medication errors and adverse drug events, and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. The Pharmacy Manager/Medication Safety Manager is also responsible for safety assessments, medication error and adverse drug event analysis, coordinating the activities of the Medication Safety Committee, providing continuing education related to quality and patient safety, consulting with management & staff, and partnering with other professionals in the health system to improve quality of care, medication safety, and customer satisfaction.
Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years hospital pharmacy experience, including Pharmacy Management, with effective verbal and written communication skills. Also must be familiar with Joint Commission standards, policy and procedure writing, data collection, workflow assessment, quality improvement initiatives and medication safety initiatives. A current Pharmacist license in good standing is a requirement for this position.
The Pharmacy department is currently focusing on expansion of the clinical program. The current clinical initiatives include renal dosing, pharmacokinetics and IV to PO conversion. Our current clinical rounding includes: MICU, SICU & Rehab hospital rounding and antimicrobial & antibiotic monitoring.
