Providence is looking for a Retail Staff Pharmacist to answer the call.
In this role, you will provide retail pharmacy services including maintenance of patient profiles, patient counseling, prescription dispensing duties, and following up on issues to ensure resolution.You will also actively participate in the development of efficiently carrying out these services using excellent customer service and by complying with state and federal pharmacy regulation.
You will be responsible for the following:
any delegated act performed by pharmacy technicians;
order entry and dispensing of medications efficiently following a review of the patient profile for appropriateness of drug and dose, therapeutic duplication, compliance, drug-disease and drug-drug interactions;
provide counseling on medications and answers patient questions in terms patients can understand without making the patient feel that they are interrupting pharmacy work;
responsible for following up on owed quantities and keeping patients informed on progress;
responsible for retrieving messages from the IVR and following up to assure refill request faxes have been sent and confirmed.
The essential requirements for this position include the following:
Education:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college program. Must have basic pharmaceutical knowledge and clinical skills. Must be familiar with the basic functions of a retail pharmacy.
Experience:
Three to six months experience as a retail pharmacist or intern preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Alaska.
