Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, Topeka, Kansas, was the first freestanding rehabilitation hospital in Kansas. Built for rehabilitation it includes a therapeutic pool, outdoor walking path, and the latest in rehabilitation technology. With 60 acute rehabilitation beds and 19 skilled care rehabilitation beds, our hospital provides Kansans with advanced rehabilitative programs in a comfortable, non-nursing home environment. Providing all levels of post-acute rehabilitation, Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital offers acute, skilled, day rehabilitation, outpatient and home health.

The HealthSouth pharmacist assumes responsibility for the overall functions and professional growth of the Department, contributes to development of hospital policies and programs, and participates with other members of the HealthCare Team in helping patients of all ages achieve positive clinical outcomes.  The pharmacist interprets medication orders, profiles those orders in a computer system, and compounds and dispenses medications preparations in accordance with the legal and professional standards of pharmacy practice. The pharmacist uses independent discretion and judgment with respect to supervisory and management decisions and recommendations. HealthSouth hospitals, with a census that is typically between 40 and 100 patients, provide an opportunity for a pharmacist to be intimately involved in setting policies, developing clinical services, and ensuring that medication management is integrated into the patient’s rehabilitative care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

License or Certification:
* License in good standing as a registered pharmacist as required by the state.
* Relevant work experience in a hospital setting preferred. 
Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbally
* Ability to work independently without supervision.
* May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts depending on the pharmacy hours of operation.
