The Pharmaceutical Care Manager of the Cancer Institute will report to the Director, Ambulatory & Specialty Pharmacy Services, and will be responsible for all pharmacy services at the Cancer Institute including the distributive and technological aspects of the medication use system and the supervision of personnel. 

Under going renovation and expansion now and slated to be complete in early 2009, located on the main campus and processes oncology medications for all inpatient and outpatient cancer patients.  Responsibilities also include the preparation of a new USP 797 Clean Room, a new CPOE ordering system designed for oncology practice, implementation of a closed IV system, and staff recruitment and training.   Collaboration with physicians and nursing leadership will be necessary to achieve all strategic initiatives in an efficient and "Patients First" manner.

• Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy services in this setting
• Maintain appropriate pharmacy staffing
• Responsible for purchasing and distribution/dispensing when needed
• Develop and maintain system of financial and inventory control according to company standards, including preparation, submission, and administration of an annual departmental budget
• Evaluate drug orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function, disease state, and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Prefer at least a minimum of 5 years Director or Supervisory level experience in a JCAHO accredited facility
• Knowledge of Meditech a plus
• Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, using the English language
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus 
• Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy with either a B.S. or Pharm. D.
• Current Pharmacist License in good standing
• Must have clean background and good prior work history
