Sharp Grossmont is a 450-bed hospital offering medical programs in Cardiac Care, Oncology, Women’s and Pediatric services, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health along with Medical/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care units.
Sharp Grossmont hospital prides itself in providing a unique and innovative pharmaceutical care program. We offer all staff the opportunity to participate in a progressive clinical setting. Clinical programs include formal protocols with certification in pharmacokinetic dosing of aminoglycosides and vancomycin, anticoagulation, insulin management, renal target, and antibiotic surveillance (including IV to PO). The pharmacists are decentralized utilizing wireless telephones and dedicated computer workstations on the nursing units. Staff is encouraged to provide pharmacotherapy management utilizing a network-based medication intervention monitoring program, respond to medical emergencies (e.g. Code Blue), and participate in medication utilization evaluations (MUE’s). The Pharmacists work with the full-time Safe Medication Practice Pharmacist in evaluating adverse drug events (ADE’s) and medication safety initiatives. Furthermore, Sharp Grossmont has a pharmacy student program, including rotations in general Hospital Practice, Pharmacokinetics, and Infectious Disease/Antimicrobial, providing an opportunity for pharmacy school affiliation. Pharmacy staff handle and distribute investigation medications. The Pharmacy has implemented Pyxis Profile Medstations that are specifically designed to support patient care in each Nursing area. This automation enhances the ability of Clinical Pharmacists to work closely with physicians and nurses in assessing the impact of medication use and helping to meet therapeutic goals.
This is a full-time variable shift position.

Current California Pharmacist licensure required without restrictions/probation.
