... Then the Drug Use Evaluation Pharmacist role is for YOU!!!
This role reports directly to the Formulary and Utilization Management Leader.
In this new role you will manage a utilization program that is a value added clinical offering to Humana patients. Retrospective and concurrent DUR campaigns will significantly reduce medication errors and increase adherence to patient specific dosing per diagnosis. You will manage, through oversite by Humana's Pharmacy and therapeutics committee, the end to end processes from development to reporting on each clinical campaign.
Responsibilities:
• Retrospective Drug utilization management strategies with campaign and DUR implementation end to end
• Support clinical programs that improve the quality and costs of pharmaceutical care for commercial and government business
• Participate in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics processes and administrative policy development
• Interfacing with consumer program strategies
• Provider consulting on DUR activities
• Formulary Management that involves:
-Developing clinical pharmacy policy on pharmaceuticals
-Developing pharmacy policy on step therapy, prior authorization, and dispensing limits
-Developing broader pharmacy policy
-Providing clinical review support
-Participating in pharmacy committees as appropriate
-Developing POS/concurrent edits
-Developing metrics that track DUR interventions
Education and Training:
• Pharmacist degree (PharmD preferred)
• 3 years clinical experience in managed care
• Active, unrestricted pharmacy clinical licensure
In addition, the ideal candidate should also have experience, skills or ability to learn:
• Strong Communication Skills (Oral and Written)

• Drug Pipeline Surveillance
• Utilization / Cost Trending
• Gathering thought leader opinion
• Gaining clinical consensus
• Pharmacoeconomics
