Responsible for the management and operation of the stores pharmacy department, including prescriptions, inventory control, customer and employee relations, compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies. Must be a registered pharmacist in Minnesota.
Essential Responsibilities:
Communicates and achieves compliance regarding all Company policies, programs and directives that apply to the Pharmacy Department in the retail store.
Promotes a high level of associate morale within the pharmacy, utilizing friendly but professional methods of communication.
Assists in the development and growth of all pharmacy personnel by ensuring regular implementation of company training, evaluation and counseling.
Ensures that department personnel affects the highest level of customer service and cooperation that is possible at all times.
Establishes and monitors associate work schedules within the department.
Assists Store Director and Regional Managers in setting quarterly and yearly budgets.
Maintains constant follow-up to assure budget sales, gross profit and controllable expense items within the Pharmacy Department are achieved.
Possesses sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others all fundamentals of the pharmacy operation including, but not limited to, product preparation.
Maintains product quality and cost control in line with department sales and profit objectives.
Maintains effective control of department labor and inventory of products and supplies, in line with established budgets and guidelines.
Ensures proper merchandising of the Pharmacy Department in compliance with Company policies and procedures and in conjunction with directives of members of Region management. This will include the proper pricing and code dating of product.
Ensures that the physical appearance of the pharmacy, including selling, and back room and storage areas, comply with the maintenance and sanitation standards of the Company and governmental regulatory agencies at all times.
Maintains all department equipment in good working order.
Monitors dress code for all department associates.
Monitors and controls all pharmacy supplier service and deliveries.

Must frequently walk, talk or hear, and reach with the hands and arms; occasionally, the associate must crouch or kneel.
Must be able to climb a ladder to retrieve items stored in elevated or overhead racks or shelves located above refrigerated boxes, in stockrooms and other storage areas.
Must occasionally exert or lift up to 55 pounds carrying boxes of records, forms and other materials and frequently lift moderate amounts of weight.
