Job Description

Staff Hospital Pharmacist needed

Rotating shift, competitive pay, minimal weekends, great company support, full benefits offered.  Must be a team player, experience in hospital a must.


Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare IV's, TPN's per physician orders
  • The pharmacist will play an active role on the interdisciplinary team consulting regarding therapeutic choices for the treatment of pain and other symptoms and educating team members and patients.
  • Participate in continuing education, obtained the most up to date drug information
  • Accurately evaluating, entering, filling, and dispensing prescriptions 
  • Counsel patients on both prescription medications to ensure proper and appropriate understanding of medication use and potential side effects
  • Implemented company policies and procedures
  • Foster and develop strong physician and patient relationships
  • Used ethical and professional judgment when speaking with other health care providers, pharmacists, and patients
  • Inventory management, ordering medications, returning any medications no longer requested or used, returned any expired medications
  • Display in-depth knowledge of best practices, policies, procedures, all federal and state laws to ensure in compliance
  • Serve as a consultant and provider of drug therapy education to health care workers
  • Operates distribution system for specific hospital units and medication unit inspections
  • Supervises the work of pharmacy technicians according to hospital policy
  • Develops and maintains external contacts which include medical service representatives from pharmaceutical companies
  • Reviews and interprets physician orders for completeness and appropriateness with respect to patients' needs
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary patient care plans
  • Hospital Experience preferred but not required
  • Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, using the English language. 
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy with either a BS or Pharm D
  • Current Pharmacist License in good standing.
  • Must have clean background and good prior work history
