	Responsibilities
	Assist professional staff in all aspects of the pharmaceutical distribution process. Prepare a 24-hour supply of IV medications daily for patients in the nursing units. Prepare cardioplegic solutions, anesthesia trays, and IV infusion necessary for cardiac surgery cases. Prepare total Parenteral Nutrition solutions for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients requiring parenteral nutrition support therapy. Prepare narcotic IV infusion solutions for patients in assigned areas. Prepare labels and other necessary documentation for compounding sterile pharmaceuticals. Maintain appropriate drug supply and requisitions drugs and supplies as necessary. Deliver IV admixtures to appropriate nursing units or departments. Communicate with patients, n H.S. graduate with 1-2 years of formal training or education in related field required. 1-2 years similar work experience in a pharmacy or experience in other positions where familiarity with drugs or aseptic techniques may be obtained. One additional year of college education in pharmacy, nursing or other health field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
