We are looking for a Transplant Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our work on our transplant team. You will provide pharmaceutical care to transplant patients, drug distribution support, clinical intervention, investigational drug studies, research, teaching and pharmacy representation in committees. This position provides transplantation services for adults and geriatric patients. While there is no typical day for a clinical pharmacist, regular components of this position include:
-Participating in inpatient care rounds and the transplant clinic
-Discussing medication order clarifications with prescriber, document any changes in patient and pharmacy records, and inform others of medication order changes,
-Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to transplant patients
-Facilitate investigational drug studies
-Take a leadership role in the teaching programs on the Department of Pharmacy Services and College of Pharmacy as they relate to solid organ transplantation.
-Participate on Medical Center committees
-Promote and demonstrate rational, cost-effective therapies
Qualifications for this position include:
PharmD Degree with a completed PGY1 ASHP Residency & completed PGY2 solid-organ transplant specialty Residency OR you must be a completed PGY1 Residency with 5 years experience as a transplant clinical pharmacist. Fellowship in clinical research is also a plus but not required. You must have your pharmacist license in the state of Virginia or able to reciprocate your license to the state of Virginia. |
