Description
DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY: Responsible for the safe, accurate and rational distributions of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, and designated areas of Largo Medical Center to include Sun Coast Campus, as well as the supervision of the technical personnel. This shall be carried out in accordance with all state/federal laws, JCAHO standards and Hospital/Department policies and procedures. The Director of Pharmacy Services reports directly to the CFO. Manages the Hospitals' projects as assigned by coordinating activities with approved vendors, and marketing, while promoting compliance with all regulatory guidelines. Assures quality services are delivered to customers and intervenes as appropriate. Participates in resource allocation and utilization activities. Actively participates as the Pharmacy representative on committees at each facility. Provides direct supervision over the Pharmacy Supervisors, and Staff Pharmacists. Within this framework, the Director of Pharmacy participates in the Quality Improvement Process programs, to ensure comprehensive and cost effective quality care.
Qualifications
Education: Pharmacy degree required. Masters Degree in Management or Business preferred. State Pharmacist & Consultant License required.
Experience: 5-7 years Hospital Pharmacy Management or Director experience. Additional business and or clinical experience or background preferred.
Skills: Has good skills in team building, human relations, organizational, critical thinking and communication skills, in a detail-oriented, multi-tasks, customer- focused organizational manner. Manages stress appropriately and can make decisions under pressure. Can handle multiple priorities, Self directed and motivated to be a team organizer and leader. Willingness and skills to direct activities through completion of planned projects. Computer skills related to Word, Excel preferred. |
