JOB TITLE: Business Development Specialist
Location: Deer Valley, AZ
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: National Director of Ophthalmology
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will report to the National Director of Ophthalmology and will be responsible for implementing internal and external sales and trade show activities for The Apothecary Shops as created by the National Director of Ophthalmology, Director of Business Development and the Executive Team. Implement successful plans for trade shows. Follow through on action plans and create accurate reporting of activities. Introduce and inform current and new practices about the services and products The Apothecary Shop has to offer.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB
1. Grow pharmaceutical distribution business through strategic sales of financially significant business.
2. Telephone contact with ophthalmologists and their practice staff either through outbound or inbound calls
3. Hands on involvement in marketing and strategic brainstorming sessions as directed by National Director of Ophthalmology and
Director of Business Development.
4. Thoroughly understand and explain The Apothecary Shops offerings and key benefits to current/potential accounts.
5. Professionally represent The Apothecary Shop at external trade shows.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· A minimum of 2+ years in Sales with cold calling and account development experience
· Certified Ophthalmic Technician a plus.
· Technical or Medical related sales experience preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to manage a large geographical database of active and potential customers.
· Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
· Demonstrated experience with establishing action plans with significant follow through.
· Ability to quickly build business acumen.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
· Requires direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public, medical staff
and other medical professionals
· Excellent attendance
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Up to 20% travel and may include weekends to attend Trade Shows. The majority of travel is planned well in advance.
· Majority of time will be spent at the National Distribution Facility in Deer Valley, AZ when not traveling for external trade shows. This allows for interaction
with the National Director of Ophthalmology, Director of National Mail Order, Director of Business Development and the Executive Team.
· Employee must be able to sit in front of computer for long periods of time
· Employee must exhibit professional appearance and conduct at all times
