JOB TITLE: Staff Pharmacist – Product Fulfillment – Mail Order
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: General Manager/Pharmacist in Charge
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mail Order Pharmacist performs various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders pursuant to state and federal laws. Assists in the operation of all internal clinical programs and industry related service agreements.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB
1. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders filled within our national specialty pharmacy product fulfillment department.
2. Works closely with the Product Fulfillment Supervisor to develop and maintain tightly controlled inventory levels and best practice standards for the national distribution facility.
3. Working knowledge of automated processes for product fulfillment strategy.
4. Responsible for adherence of all state and federal regulations pursuant to state and federal laws involving prescription medication order fulfillment.
- Provides guidance, training and supervision to pharmacy interns, residents and technicians during course of work when applicable.
- Follows established policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, established metrics as well as safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Meets and/or exceeds service goals for fulfillment (shipping deadlines, accuracy, labor, inventory, etc)
- Provides back-up to National Mail Order Pharmacists as requested.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy license in good standing in the state which they are practicing
- The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Provides guidance, training and supervision to pharmacy interns and technicians during course of work and monitors performance
- Ability to supervise support staff and ensure an efficient work flow
- Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

- Ability to look at prescriptions for extended periods of time and ensure accuracy in the input and filling of the prescription and make corrections if needed
TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical retail/mail order pharmacy environment.
Moderate physical activity
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds
Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of times (8 hours or more)
Must be able to work in front of computer for long periods of time
Minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals
