NAME OF POSITION: Director of Pharmacy- (Unclassified)
SALARY RANGE: $95,205.00 - $165,000.00 / Annual
DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent of the ILPH Director of Pharmacy Services will be charged with complete responsibility for directing the day-to-day administration of all pharmacy activities for the largest state acute-care hospital. Pharmacy programs and support programs and operations include inpatient, outpatient, HIV and Medication Assistance. The director is responsible for the appropriate approval and utilization of ILPH resources and programs to foster an effective educational environment for students from schools of pharmacy, nursing and other educational disciplines.
Administrative emphasis is placed on the planning and accessing compliance with the national patient safety goals defined by regulatory agencies in relation to medication acquisition, storage, distribution and administration by nursing, physician, pharmacy and other applicable acute care staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must posses a current Louisiana license to practice pharmacy in Louisiana and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as licensed pharmacists in a health care facility. Two (2) years of the overall experience must have been in a management or supervisory capacity.
Position subject to compliance with Section 25 of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy institutional pharmacy Regulations are open to application based on one of the following selective certifications: Either (5) years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a health care facility, or completion of an accredited hospital pharmacy residency program. Only the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy can exempt the above requirements.
