PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), a national alliance of over 100 academic health centers, has an immediate opening for a Principal Consultant, Supply Chain Consulting.
This project management position will help UHC members identify and implement pharmacy consulting solutions including pharmacy contract maximization and optimized medication utilization. The identified solutions will be those that demonstrate value for the member and support overall UHC goals. On-site work will include customized work plans, conduct analyses, pharmacy cost reduction opportunities and solutions, support pharmacy GPO conversions and provide customized, actionable recommendations to the executive staff at UHC, Novation and the member. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently on-site while ensuring the facilitation of value-added services from pharmaceutical savings opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree OR equivalent experience required. Doctorate in clinical pharmacy preferred
· 10+ years experience in a medical care setting, clinical pharmacy and pharmacy administrative oversight experience
· Knowledge of process improvement/re-engineering, assimilation and interpretation of data as it related to medication utilization
· Consulting experience preferred
· Experience in clinical resource management including pharmacy and therapeutics; pharmacy process improvement, pharmacy purchasing processes including MMIS systems and e-commerce, managing and interpreting contracts required
· Previous experience with medication utilization evaluation or value analysis committee preferred
· Expertise in project management, contracting, and financial analysis is desired
· Strong analytical skills including facility with cost benefit analysis as well as strong technical skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, etc.)
· The position requires approximately 60-80% multi-state travel
· Relocation is not required for this role
