Data Architect
Job Description/Requirements:
Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Modeling (emphasis on both BI and AND OLTP) including transition between the different model types, levels of abstraction and optimization.
Deep experience with physical models and database design.
Experience with Erwin as data modeling toolset.
Deep understanding of normalization, de-normalization, data rationalization, and optimization.
Deep understanding of relational architectures, SQL, and query navigation of complex relationships.
Some experience with data architecture and persistence in support of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Has tactical and hands on experience with metadata mapping between different relational database technologies (MS SQL Server, DB2 UDB), and including data type mapping, data type matching, data type casting, and data type facets (length, scale, precision).
Has hands-on experience with XML (XML) and XML Schemas (XSD). Understands the type system of XML Schemas, how types are declared and how they are associated to an XML element and XML attribute.
Has hands-on experience with UML modeling and design, including: use case, class, sequence models and diagrams.
Has experience with ETL and other types of high-volume data movement, data replication, data transformation and data integration.
Must possess a mastery of both verbal and written English skills. Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate (verbal and written) to a broad audience (business, technology), including varying roles and levels (executive, leader, manager, architect, designer, developer, engineer.
Has significant experience with MS Office toolset and including: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Visio, MS Project.
Can take direction from Program and Enterprise Architects. Has sufficient experience to *mentor* other data architects, and to guide developers and engineers.
Must have a good background in systems integration and data architecture and integration engineering discipline, have delivered multiple enterprise systems and understand complex business domains, preferably payments and/or related domains (financial, credit, etc.)
Must have a track record of having participated in successful architecture programs involving large cross functional teams and domains.
Must have a strong technology background to drive cross-functional teams to develop technology solutions, guidelines and standards to
be adopted across the program.
Experience practicing enterprise architecture methods resulting in measurable business value including roadmaps, blueprinting, domain reference architectures and standards management.
Should have worked with tools such as industry reference models, frameworks and EA or modeling repositories.
Must be versed in Services Oriented Architecture concepts and practices.
Experience and some depth of knowledge with application and/or technology road mapping disciplines, including AS-IS & TO-BE architecture life cycle management.
Project Management.
Bachelors degree in a related field
