Director of Pharmacy – Hospital

The DOP will organize and direct a comprehensive programs of the Pharmacy Department within the hospital.  Supervise Pharmacy Department personnel & establishes rapport with other departments as well as Medical Staff and Nursing Services. Evaluate and adopt new programs to enhance patient care.

Requirements –

The DOP shall have a Doctor of Pharmacy or a Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.  Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy or be eligible for licensure in Maryland; licensure requirements completely satisfied within six (6) months after employment.

Three years in hospital pharmacy practice, including at least two years in a position of Director/Associate, Director/Assistant Director.  

Able to speak, write and comprehend English. Be familiar with all phases of hospital pharmacy.  Demonstrated capability in establishing and maintaining effective, co-operative working relationships with Medical, Nursing and Professional staff.  Demonstrated capability in efficiently and effectively managing human, material, capital and financial resources.  Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; capable of walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, able to bend forward and downward.  Must have good eye-hand co-ordination and manual dexterity.
