ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for the overall clinical direction and all clinical activities of the Puerto Rico Center of Excellence.
· Directly manage the Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Managers and Clinical support staff at the Center of Excellence.
· Serving as a liaison to the National Director of Customer Service for the management of Customer Service Pharmacy Technicians.
· Serving as a liaison for Corporate and Regional clinical support.
· Developing strategies and ensuring the development of custom utilization and clinical programs with a focus on client retention/satisfaction and trend management.
· Developing and implementing strategic client, member, pharmacy and physician detailing programs, including a physician-client advisory board.
· Ensuring client’s clinical needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
· Maintaining active involvement in regional pharmacy associations and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
· Providing cross-coverage for fellow Clinical staff, as needed.
· Serving as a drug information resource for client and colleagues.
· Participating in client meetings, as needed and coordinating implementations of clinical projects/programs.
· Supporting client specific Pharmacy and Therapeutics functions and responsibilities.
· Supporting sales and marketing, as needed.
· Performing other duties as assigned to meet corporate objectives.
· Some travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD), with a current unrestricted pharmacy license, and 5+ years pharmacy practice experience (PBM/managed care environment preferred) and/or experience developing formularies, presenting at P&T committee meetings, and performing drug utilization analyses. Management experience and strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, customer service, and analytical, and program management skills required.
