|
-Plan and organize pharmaceutical care activities in accordance with patient care needs, hospital/department strategic plan, hospital and medical staff policy, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists standards, state and federal pharmacy laws, JCAHO requirements and the needs of the facility.
-Select, coach, motivate, and aid in the development of a fully qualified staff of managers, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy technicians.
-Budget requirements within the Director's control (e.g., operating expenses, required staffing hours) are managed according to Division standards.
-Achieve QA benchmarks and thresholds through oversight of systems which provide for the safe and effective use of medication by proper procurement, control and distribution of pharmaceutical supplies and intravenous preparations.
-Visibly demonstrate a commitment to Medication Use Informatics and Process improvements through active participation with the Medical Staff as well as the integration of medication use processes into multidisciplinary teams.
-Meet requirement within the medical center for administrative reporting and follow-ups as well as management of human resources.
-Serve as a role model of excellent customer service by responding constructively to the needs of all those interacted with on a daily basis (Nursing, medical staff, patients, co-workers, and supervisors).
-Respond constructively with courtesy, respect, and a positive outlook that reflects the goals of the Department.
Basic Qualifications
-B.S. degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm. D.).
-5 years experience in hospital pharmacy administration/management.
-Graduate degree in Hospital or Clinical Pharmacy (M.Sc, or Pharm. D.); MBA, ASHP Residency in hospital or clinical pharmacy preferred.
-Understand of all hospital pharmacy operations.
-Strong communication, team building, management skills and demonstrated ability to work with doctors and staff to assure positive patient outcomes are a must.
-Knowledge of the JCAHO regulations and general procedures, and state and federal pharmacy laws.
-Manage annual budget, inventory control and staffing.
Licensure/Certifications
-Pharmacist license.
