Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor
Qualified candidates must have both strong listening,verbal and written communication skills.The individual must feel comfortable presenting to both large and small groups of physicians, nurses, and/or pharmacists. Reasoning skills should be above average, and the person should be adept at researching drug information questions, analyzing data/information from several sources, and providing an answer that meets the customer's needs in terms of timeliness, depth and communication format.
There should be an above average comfort level working with excel, access, powerpoint and other software.
Job Description
Acts as a resource to physicians, pharmacists, and nursing personnel regarding the appropriate selection of a given drug and related parameters of dose, frequency and monitoring parameters. Coordinates the provision of key department monitoring services including anticoagulant dosage adjustments, antibiotic and anticonvulsant pharmacokinetics. Assists in the coordination of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee(s) activities and represents the pharmacy department at designated hospital committees (Infection Control, various Outcomes/IHI projects etc) and physician department meetings. Helps to develop the clinical skills of the pharmacists: individually, as small groups, and the entire job class. Serves as the preceptor for university pharmacy clerkship programs. Identifies opportunities for cost reductions as well as enhancing department services and/or patient outcomes and participates in the implementation of efforts to successfully achieve the desired outcome. This position will work primarily 1st shift. If the occasional need arises this individual will work as a staff pharmacist on 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
Requirements
Three to five years of hospital pharmacy experience with a preference towards the individual having also participated in an ASHP accredited residency program. Pharmacy leadership experience strongly preferred. Valid Wisconsin Pharmacy license required.
