Corporate Clinical Float Pharmacist - Float
We are looking for a strong IV/TPN skilled pharmacist open to traveling and supporting our home infusion branches.
This is an exciting opportunity that will test your clinical experience and organizational skills.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, Coram Policies and Procedures (P & P) and standards of accrediting body.
- Requires frequent travel
- Participate in pharmacy support line
- Participate on special projects and national committees as directed by National Director of Pharmacy
- Assist in pharmacy training programs as directed by National Director of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy Education or designee.
- Provides training, guidance and coaching to appropriate employees.
- Verifies accuracy of dispensing, medical and laboratory data, progress notes and other required monitoring log data including all quality assurance documentation.
- Coordinates and directs the activities of pharmacy personnel as directed by National Director of Pharmacy, branch and/or pharmacy manager or designee.
- Obtains, interprets and evaluates all physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost effectiveness, accuracy, safety and completeness.
- Communicates clinical and technical information and monitoring to other members of healthcare team and patient when appropriate.
- Participates in patient evaluation for acceptance, product selection, device selection and supply management.
- Performs accurate computer order-entry, labeling and dispensing in accordance with Coram P&P and state board of pharmacy regulations.
- Accurately compounds and checks compounded sterile products according to Coram P&P.
- Directly supervises pharmacy support personnel in the appropriate compounding, packaging and labeling of compounded sterile products.
- Follows established procedures for drug and supply procurement, in no production pharmacist on staff.
- Maintains procedures for appropriate security of all legend items, including controlled substances if designated by pharmacy manager.
- Participates in on-call responsibilities.
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities, educational programs and departmental/branch meetings.
- Participates in the branch assessment process and creation of action plans as directed National Director of Pharmacy and branch management staff or designee.
Qualifications
- Must be able to travel frequently outside of home area for extended periods of time.
- Bachelors or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Five years related experience in an IV alternate site environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write and present information to managers, patients, nurses and physicians.
- Computer skills (Coram pharmacy system, word processing, database, spreadsheet programs)
- Current license to practice pharmacy in state of residence. Multi-state licensure preferred.
- Able to obtain license reciprocation in assigned states.
- Current CPR certification if involved with direct patient contact.
