Qualifications
The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.
A. Education and formal training: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy. NC pharmacist license.
B. Work experience: Two years as a hospital pharmacist. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
C. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Demonstrated skills in supervision, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal interactions, organization, time management, and human resources. Exhibits strong leadership skills such as independent judgment, ability to delegate and adaptability. Must effectively facilitate meetings, accomplish goals through teamwork, supervise department operations and provide support to internal and external customers. Demonstrated knowledge of the legal, regulatory and professional practice standards of Pharmacy. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy computer systems. Ability to integrate knowledge into daily practice and to handle multiple functions simultaneously. Must be able to remain calm and give direction under stressful circumstances. Must be able to communicate via telephone. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and mouse. Must be able to produce written notes, logs, and sign personal initials or name. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)' age. Has ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
