The Pharmacy is managed by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS).

A New Position.This position will have responsibility for the development and use of technology and automation used in providing quality pharmaceutical care services at SVMHS and for information system infrastructure of pharmacy and hospital-wide interfacing to support Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medication Administration Record ( eMAR), Bedside Medication Verification (BMV) – aka bar coding, and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE).

The position will analyze needs and develops hardware and software solutions for all pharmaceutical services; maintain all pharmacy databases, formularies, billing and reporting; ensure system integrity of databases; specialize in the medication process from ordering to administration; be responsible for effective process design, development and implementation of the EHR, eMAR, CPOE and Clinical Decision Support; act as an expert resource in various aspects of Information Systems terminology, information system processing and desktop solutions and in patient safety and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity; provide support to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to the EMR changes and additions; ensure the proper utilization of the Pharmacy Information System through training of staff; maintain integration of advanced pharmacy systems (packaging, inventory, storage) with eMar/BMV and hospital legacy information system

Required Experience
- PharmD and Licensure in good standing in the state of CA.
-Minimum five (5) years of pharmacy experience of which at least three were spent in a hospital setting
- Experience with Pharmacy information systems (McKesson, Meditech, etc.), dictionary management (Pharmacy information system), facilitating and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve facility goals and hospital materials distribution system
- Demonstrated analytical and presentation skills

Preferred Experience
Experience withMeditech Information Systems, Meditech Pharmacy Module, Electronic Medical/Health Records, eMAR/BMV, CPOE, Automated Carousel Systems, Automated Unit Dose Packaging Systems, Automated Dispensing Units (aka Pyxis/CareFusion), teaching (peers or involved in pharmacy residents, NPR reports.
