Description: Full-Time Director of Pharmacy Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center Bangor, Maine Scope of Responsibility You will oversee all pharmacy operations at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center, including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. Depending on the candidate, this position could also provide operational oversite at Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta, ME. Qualifications - Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) - Current ME pharmacy license in good standing - Previous pharmacy management experience in a psychiatric setting - Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns - Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff Facility & Pharmacy Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is an accredited 100-bed psychiatric hospital that serves adult inpatients and outpatients with severe mental illness from the northern 2/3 of the state. It is part of a comprehensive mental health system of services, and one of two psychiatric hospitals operated by the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services. The pharmacy uses Pyxis and ePharmPro for remote order entry. Because management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS, the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacists are employees of CPS. Pharmacy technicians, on the other hand, are employed by the state.
