Our client, a national healthcare solutions organization (GPO), is seeking a Pharmacy Director Specialist for their dynamic US Team.
The Pharmacy Director Specialist will be responsible for the promotion and implementation of the Group Purchasing (Pharmacy) Program for the Clinical Specialist Team. In this home-based position, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
· Client relationship management, which includes conducting client visitation with current and potential member facilities to promote contract utilization and key issues.
· Providing coordinated marketing strategies to create customer awareness and cost saving opportunities.
· Supporting business development by providing direct sales support for the pharmacy program and performing research and analysis of market share trends, supplier opportunities and issues affecting health care group purchasing.
· Collaborating in the sales and marketing efforts of the program including staff training and facility interaction.
· Working closely with Pharmacy Department Managers and Directors to identify, develop and implement procedures to improve effectiveness and contract utilization.
· Developing strategies to generate revenue and control organizational costs.
· Participating in supplier relations by attending regional meetings with key suppliers to address contract utilization, develop and implement strategic sales plans and coordinate this information with the sales team.
This position will require travel up to 50% of the month, typically with 2-3 days/week away from home. Some weeks there will be no travel and most travel will be via air.
Requirements include:
· Pharm D (preferred) or BS in Pharmacy
· Active pharmacist license in good standing
· Minimum seven (7) years of health care experience with five (5) years minimum in an acute care setting.
· Must have demonstrated leadership experience with committees and/or project facilitation and implementation (preferably as a Director of Pharmacy.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
· Previous experience with direct contracting, purchasing, or business experience a must!
· Working knowledge of all functions within the acute care and non-acute care setting with emphasis on pharmaceutical products required.
· Must be able to work independently, organize, solve problems, and make independent judgments.
· Superior customer service, organizational and communication skills are necessary.
· Computer skills must include Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Internet, and electronic mail systems.
· Presentation and meeting facilitation skills required.
· Ability to coordinate and manage multiple membership relationships required.
· Moderate to extensive day and overnight travel required.
