Description: Associate Director of Pharmacy Pediatric University Hospital-Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico Description: As an Associate Director of Pharmacy, you will assist in planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities in the hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to the Regional Vice President and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. There may be a component of patient care and pharmacy staffing. This includes evaluate, interpret, compound, and dispense medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber. You will also identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome and promote, through criteria based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care. This is position is Monday-Friday. Qualifications: • Pharmacy Degree (BS or PharmD) • Puerto Rico pharmacist licensure in good standing • 3+ years experience as a pharmacy leader, preferably in a hospital setting • Must currently reside in Puerto Rico • Must speak fluent Spanish • Ability to lead & manage pharmacy staff and work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital staff Facility:University Pediatric Hospital, part of the Department of Health Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is the leading institution in the country dedicated exclusively to providing medical services to children in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
