At Carilion Clinic the Pharmacists are the medication experts and members of the patient care team. By having pharmacists partner with other disciplines, we are improving the care we provide to patients who are taking medications.
Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 825-bed teaching, tertiary care facility with Level 1 Trauma. The pharmacy department at (CRMH) utilizes a mix of centralized and decentralized clinical staff and clinical specialists to provide pharmaceutical care to patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics and from outpatients to patients in intensive care units with a pharmacist to technician ratio of 1 to 2.
Carilion utilizes a number of technologies to include:
· integrated medical record
· computerized order entry and verification
· automated dispensing cabinets
· point-of-care bar-coded administration systems
· centralized carousels.
Must posses the skills to interpret medication orders and review them for safety and effectiveness. Responsibilties include providing age specific pharmaceutical care by partnering with the interdisciplinary care team, educating, consulting, reviewing and processing orders. Provides leadership and supervision to pharmacy technicians and clerical personnel as assigned. Opportunities for precepting students and residents is optional.
Opportunity is Day/Evening 7A-11P and every third weekend.Must be a graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE. Residency and/or 3 years of hospital experience required.
