Under general supervision of a pharmacist, performs pharmacy-related functions to provide optimal pharmaceutical care. Prepares medications, maintains pharmacy inventory, and restocks as necessary.
Education: High school Diploma or GED certificate. Completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Experience: Typically, one year of pharmacy experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work as a team member. Attention to detail. Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures. Knowledge of medications and medical supplies. Knowledge of record-keeping techniques. Mathematical computation skills. Sterile and non-sterile compounding skills. Organization and communication skills. Good typing, keyboarding and proofreading skills. Ability to maintain adequate inventory/supplies.
Certifications and Licenses: PTCB certification or current pharmacy intern license. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
